All depends; I use come a longs. UHMW rods, pry bars to place the rollers in between. But my start in material handling was 55 years ago. The big stuff then was not often enough to justify a fork truck. "mules" pried corners up to place pipes under to make pushing onto trailer for shipment. Been involved with outsmarting inanimate objects ever since.

Pulled a decent BW log. It's going to be a mantle for a friends new house.

Eta: MS 261CM/16" and 660 w/24" in the bucket. 2 saw plan.

I have a 026, MS261, and a MS660 ported...and I've been putting undue pressure on myself to buy a "tweener" something between the 261 & 660...AIN'T gonna do it now!!
How has it been working out for you?

I sold the ms660 due to weight.
Used the $ to buy a MMWS MS 462C.
It should arrive in the next couple weeks.
The 261c is perfect for the 50cc role.
I think a ported 70cc is a better choice than a 90cc, for me.
I have 20", 24" & 28" bars for it plus full skip, full comp and semi chisel chains.
That combo covers nearly everything I'll run into.

046, ms-460, ported 661 takes care of 18",20",24",30",32",36",42",50", 60" (on stump in avatar) and when needed 72" for milling or dropping a fat red oak stump that's 20 foot tall I'm told. Alleged to be over 5 foot diameter.

My buddies wife made the call for bark / live edge. I don't like it at all. My choice would have been rough sawn, very light sanding then oil rub.
I'm just happy the log got used. It was almost firewood.
I figure the bark will eventually fall off and it will be live edge.

Did you apply any kind of sealer or finish over the bark? I'd imagine it'd fall off rather quickly above that heat source.

Your kinda lucky you don't need 90-120 cc saw. The hardwoods here will take a toll on 70cc saws used on big stumps. Now I mill....no way around it.

I gave the log to my buddy who took over from there. House warming gift.
His plan is to let the bark fall off naturally then oil the wood. The sapwood will be the only thing visible, so I'm not sure I will like it.
Good news is, I don't have to look at it!
They are happy, so that's what matters.

I'm happy the log got used. They got eight 1x8x8 boards from it also. His wife is very crafty and will use them for something cool.
