I don't think it needs the spacers to keep the piston centered, I just wanted to keep the bearing from moving that far out of the rod. I guess to keep the bearing centered.

Also got the timing where I want it. I didn't spend a lot of time on the cylinder so it's not the prettiest.. Now to trim the fins so I can get it where the muffler and top cover will bolt on.

and the bad news is that after I trimmed the fins I was going around the cylinder and smoothing everything out with a flap disc and it cut through the cylinder above the flywheel, JB Weld to the rescue.

While I'm waiting on the JB Weld to cure I thought I'd try and repair the hole in my top cover. Over 5 minutes to upload two pics, like in the days of dial up internet.

Muffler bolt holes almost lined up with the 381 cylinder, I got them widened and cut out the hole that goes against the cylinder so I could bolt it on. The muffler mod was pretty easy, I just cut the old deflector off and silver soldered one I made on after enlarging the hole.

Got the saw cleaned up and put back together, a 372 intake boot worked on this one too but I didn't need to turn it upside down. I fired it up but have yet to tune it.
