Yep.Is that 60dl still sharp?
Yep.
The chain I'm running has cut a bunch of wood since it's been filed.
I'm going to a landing tomorrow to get some big oak crotches so I can use a 32" 404. I have a new chain for it and one that I can file a little bit to compare them.
The new round chain hit with a double bevel is fast. That one is the best I've ever done but I'm no pro square filer,I really just started. I can round file though. They'll hold up even better once you get a little more side plate support for the corner. Makes it smoother too as it severs the wood on the side instead of pulling the point sideways as far.
That stuff is a pain to file but lasts forever.p if you don't hit metal.

That chain is hard to turn,it pulls hard on the saw,my 24" chains have been filed a bunch and are smoothand much easier to turnThey get a touch faster but a good bit smoother the more side plate you get.
Me too,the 24" ones need the rakers knocked down some, they don't load the saw enough.I like them when they load the saw down like that. They usually cut about the fastest loaded pretty good

When I decide to learn something new it will consume my life for however long it takes for me to feel I have it down.
I have literally filed miles of chain away learning and becoming good at round filing but now I'm on to square and I like it, I'm not very good at it but having mike Lee hang out at the shop with me and file chains definitely has helped.
I like how that oregon chain cuts when you get about 6-8 sharpens in ,with about half the cutter left .Here's a pic, nothing flashy just a sharp work chain.
