Yup. I installed it and it wouldn't hold any pressure. Put the old one back in and it's fine.

Rebuilding my 260 carb and it's got a wte549?

As I was installing the diaphragm for the metering lever I noticed this

Seems to me that would be like drastically changing the metering lever height. Any thoughts?

Might need an extra gasket for that.

So how do you know where to set the metering lever with this? Just need to try it and adjust?

Was the gasket that came with the kit a much thicker one than normal?

Deets,

A new 194 will set you back $38. A new 403B around $18, but you'll need to modify your tank handle for the mix screws. Venturi should be the same. Runs just as well.

The Tillotson HU is a problematic carb anyway, that plastic module is a known trouble source for these HU carbs.

I'm not sure. However with the metering lever set flush with the carb body and the new gasket it would not hold any pressure. So it wasn't thick enough... I put the old set back on and it's running fine.

Hi paragonbuilder

Have a look at the file attached for adjusting the metering lever height of the WTE carburetor. It`s the same procedure also for a Walbro WTF carburetor on other models.

Pretty scary Dan. Looks like a mistake anyone could easily make.

Interesting... I thought walbro's all were set flush... And that's how it was...
Maybe it was kitted before and done wrong?
So seems to be running good, I have not cut with it yet, but seems doggy on spool up. Could this be why?
What does this setting actually change in regards to function of the carb?

Maybe your L needle needs to be a little bit more open, that gives normally a better acceleration.
