I'm finishing up a rebuild of a MS260 Pro, and I have three carbs to choose from. I've tightened up the compression a touch with a thinner base gasket, and I've opened up the muffler. I'll be darned if I remember which one I took off, but of these three which would be your first choice? The only WT 194 that I have, currently lives on an 026.

1.) WTE 925
2.) WT 22C
3.) Chicom Zama

I think that saw wears a 403?

They're only like $18 shipped IIRC.

A 194 shipped will run ya $38.

I measured the bore on the 403 ZAMA and it was the same as the 194.

Now that you say it, it probably did have the 403. I have one of those out there too, but it only has one adjustment screw so I tossed it aside.

The WT22 is not a bad carb at all. I've used quite a few of the Chinese Zama's -- they may get a bad rap among some but they have performed well here.
The WT194 is actually my carb of choice -- I use the snorkle top off the existing carb that comes off the saw and swap it over. The carbs that have no H adjustment I toss aside -- not a fan at all. With your muffler mod you will need a fully adjustable carb.

I believe I saw these specs on another thread. I know you are comparing dimensions. Is there a link to the thread so we can see what was learned by your research. I am very interested. My practical experience is with the WT22 and the 194 -- and they have performed very well. The Chinese carbs that I have used have done well also on the MS260 -- the earlier ones actually had "ZAMA" on them and many have been purchased for less than $20. I'm always learning, thanks for posting

I don't have an 044 carb.
The ms290/029/390 can be bolted on the 044... can you see where i'm going with this? ;)
