Rather than using jb weld it would be cool to use something heavy like lead, port and tune the saw for 17k+rpm. Wind her up and dump it into a cant!!lol There would be a stack of force stored with the weight.:eyepop:Maybe their is a reason I don't build saws for a livin!

Heavy lead will adhere to steel just fine.
I've never heard of heavy lead adhering to aluminum

Isn't all lead heavy?
Its been years ............ but as I recall, heavy lead is more pure than other types of lead thats more commonly available.
I was a kid a while back, and used heavy lead on my rear quarter panels instead of bondo.
Wooden tools were common, as was using acid as flux.
Care had to be taken to give a good rinse or primer would peel shorly ........... however if done correctly, there is no fear of corrosion or blistering of paint over time

I could be wrong, time has done lots of "wonderfull" things to the noodle above my eyebrow

Aluminum is tough to solder to due to its conductivity. It wicks away heat fast enough that solder and lead cant wet out to adhere

You could do something like a clutch spider with wings, poor in the hot lead so it has something to hold onto. I have a few boat ballist blocks of lead from my old boss's 100ft cruiser. Damn heavy they are, l made a stack of fishing sinkers melting one down.

You talking about a clutch spider ......... like between an engine and transmission ?
How would you make that pattern into the transferrs ?
Are you talking about adding the pattern to a cranks counterweights, and if so, how would you get that pattern into the counterweights ?

Aussie man .......... youre confusing this old fart
Have you been beveraging ?
Maybe I should start beveraging, then I could follow you easier ?

A bill of US currency weighs one gram, and there are 454 grams to a pound, so a pound of 100 dollar bills would be worth $45,400. The current value of gold is about $1600 per ounce, and a pound has 16 ounces, so a pound of gold would be worth $25,600. The hundred dollar bills are the better deal, unless you're too near a fire.

So if I was to polish up the bottom ring a little, what would be the best thing to use? It would have to be very fine sandpaper or cartridge roll. Otherwise could it possibly damage the bore if it wasn't as smooth as when you started?
