So what would be a better piston option if the Pistons had same skirt length and crown height? The heavier single ring of the lighter two ring

Wouldn't a heavier piston carry more torque? Like a heavy flywheel

If the piston is heavier it must have more mass, I would take the added stress if it gave me a little bump in velocity

It depends on what your doing with the saw, I lightened the flywheel on my 064 and I'm using a 034 clutch.

It's very snappy and I noticed no loss in tourqe.

How are we changing velocity with the weight of a piston?

If made from the same material, it must have more mass to weigh more. If it has more mass I'm assuming you would get more velocity

I was wondering that the other night when I was reading about the older saws y'all were talking about earlier in this thread with heavier components. Would adding weight to a piston help torque?
Those old saws were torque monsters.

I personally Think a heavy piston would just apply more stress. I don't think that it would carry more torque.
It would also change the balance factor of the crank, which may hinder or help.
