One ring vs two

Only some of the Detroits are. All older. There are no current models I'm aware of. Screamers they are!

The DT 466 is a international engine.
The older Detroits were numbered like 453 671 892 1271

You question(s) could be answered by looking at a Diesel engines' pistons and rings.

I'm going to have to ask you for the follow up to this statement, going into more detail about the intent of what and why it's written, plus a few more answers

Am I looking at a 4 stroke or two stroke diesel piston?

Do all diesel pistons have more than one ring ?

Long stroke or short stroke ?

Pressed pin or retainers ?

Dished or flat ?

I could talk trucks & Detroits all night, but that doesn't solve the question of one or two rings..... I wonder how many rings GM used????

Feed mill I worked at one summer in college had a crackerbox Dodge with a 318 and a 13 speed. I avoided that *b-word like the plague.

Anybody no the weight difference between a oem 66 piston and a meteor? I believe the meteor is heavier but I can't remember. Need to order pistons.
288 piston is a decent chunk of aluminum,don't know how much it weighs either,one ring though.
