lol, I tried to post that gif here, but couldn’t get it to workView attachment 442267
The Stihl and Husky fanboi’s are swinging purses like crazy. Meanwhile the Echo guys are mostly ducking and applying bandaids to their fingers on account of the razor sharp cheap plastics.
Not sure I’d want to take that bet. Echo is known for reliability.Show us a timberwolf that can last as long as a 362.... pro saw vs homeowner... have fun with your plastic toys...
Hay that adjustsble oiler and not needed decomp on the pro make it so much better than my old red lever from 1991.Not sure I’d want to take that bet. Echo is known for reliability.
Besides, calling a 590 a plastic homeowner saw is the equivalent of saying that an 026 is a homeowner saw but the 026 Pro is a pro saw. Or a 365 compared to a 372
I get it, $300 might break some people or they are just cheap bastages. However, if you're broke or going to be cheap, just don't try saying the cheap saw is as good as the more expensive because it's just not. And don't go through all sorts of metal gymnastics to prove the same. Then what exactly was your point? Running someone’s choice down that fit his budget to do what he needs, because he chose not to purchase a Stihl?
They are built like a pro saw from 1985 with some blingy plastic. There are not poorly built or low quality. They just perform poorly in comparison to modern stuff. But they are cheap. Not sure I’d want to take that bet. Echo is known for reliability.

was gonna say, the oil thread is downright civilized in relation these daysIs this the new purse swinging thread?
Yeah we know your butt hurt over the 881. You should scan it quick to confirm the hours. I would but that mtronic stuffs to cornfusing to use that are to stupid to work on the best saw made.Just checked out a parts 462. I think I can fix it. Only coupla years old. It's out of warranty. He claims dealer said 82 hours on the thing. Runs, but sounds like a fkn baby rattle. Piston got all sorts of play.
The constant chatter from cutting frozen wood: it sorts out defects real fkn fast!
When the owner tried to remove the muffler, he snapped an exhaust bolt. The muffler bolts are too long, threads are exposed and covered in heat-treated spruce sap. Kind of a dumb design
Bone stock, and ran only on hp ultra, the best there is. Laughing!
Maybe the echo fanbois shouldnt be swinging purses in a thread specifically about a stihl saw in the first place? This thread is so far off the original intent anymore theres no point leaving it open anymore.... it was a civilized discussion about the updates to the ms400.1 and went sharply downhill recently...View attachment 442267

All brand sparing aside as far as the 462 gos first thing I’d look at is the front sticker for silver or white if it’s still there. If it’s silver it’s the new 462 if it’s white it’s the old piston eater with a diverter on the case. People sometimes loose trac how long it’s been since something was bought. I’ve been guilty of it many times.sheeeeeeeet,
i cut myself on lunch brake sharpening echos. On a Oyster can. Sawtroll was right!
Oyster to olive oil ratio: 20:1
I've cut lots of frozen wood much harder than spruce... never had a it kill a Husky or a Stihl for that matter. In fact the wood you cut in AK is all gopher wood hardness wise.Just checked out a parts 462. I think I can fix it. Only coupla years old. It's out of warranty. Right.. the new 400.1 will cut too fast, vibrate too little, weigh too little, filter air too well and cost too muc for the echo crew.Maybe the echo fanbois shouldnt be swinging purses in a thread specifically about a stihl saw in the first place? I've cut plenty of birch, jack pine in spruce when I lived in far northwest Ontario. I also cut plenty of oak, rock maple etc. With that said there us nothing you have thats hard cutting, period. Especially those puny pecker poles.Oh my! bwalker wow! I've obviously heard u say this before. Why repeat yourself?
Tanana valley Alaska birch averages 1300 janka. Shouldn't be surprising, as it throws similiar btu's as red & white oak.
Blazeking-king will give a 12 hour burn full of seasonsed birch. It's hard enough, without be too annoying to cut.
Blessed to have 15 acres of it. I get sap to make syrup, chaga tea, bark for crafting, floor boards for cabins/trailer decks, firewood. Heck I've even carved paddles and dog sled parts from it!
What did u cut today in a city in the Montana prarie?
Nother 30-40 birch today down via cs 620pw, sporting Hawaiian swimmin trunks......
