Snow will keep stuff that way. Just abrasive enough to scrub dirt off but not enough to take off paint. When it melts it washes stuff for free!

It’ll also keep ya from working once it gets to a certain point. That’ll keep stuff shiny too.
Huh, must be these magical snow elves don’t live here where I work in the snow🤷🏼‍♂️

If the new saw has more torque but less power, correct if I'm wrong that means the old one must have more revs.
I would have thought the old one would be faster through the softwood. Anyway a few test cuts is not real world usage.
Looking forward to some real world comparisons and some back to back Dyno tests.

You’re doing a poor job of fitting in here

Pop-metal, lol.

Arguably better than the original, if either could be considered better, OR if another thing is needed to argue about.

Been looking at some of the youtube videos on the 400.1 and reading the comments. Almost all the comments are negative saying how bad an idea it is to ditch the current 400.
I'm going to hold off and see how good the new version actually is before I buy either of them.
I have a feeling if the new one truly is better, holding off and buying the 400.1 may cure me of my CAD:p

I'd take a lot of those comments with a grain of salt.

Agreed. I think you nailed it in one of your earlier comments. Stihl has generally improved at each model upgrade, there's no reason to think the 400.1 will be a down grade.
The ideal scenario Stihl is looking for is the doubters go out and buy a current model resulting in an up tick in sales. Then the 400.1 is released, it ends up being a stellar performer and boosts sales again. Time will tell.

I mean it looks cool. Can the specs be found anywhere? Availability date?
You can pre-order them in the UK at the moment release date May 2025. They are expensive like 500i price. I wonder how much of it is marketing. At the price they are quoting, you could have two Husqvarna 562!

Anyone compare the 362C and the 400C?
Maybe the Neu 363 will be the poor man's 400C.2?

Seriously? Got a link? .... 400 ain't no 500i so I guess maybe that's early fanboy pricing. I'm gonna wait till they hopefully go on sale (in a year and a half I dunno) as I have two new 400mags that will be fine for now.

They’ll never be the price of a 500i in order for them to even sell it will need to be between the current 362 and 400 just the way it will be can’t get 80cc money for 63cc

MS 400.1 has a slightly lower price listed than MS 400. £1,339 vs. £1,369 with a 20'' bar. MS 500i is £1,749. MS 400.1 is also quoted a strange lower price of £1271.02 with an 18'' bar. VAT (sales tax) in the UK is 20%.

That's a little more promising. Still would have been a lot better if they priced it even closer to the 362. It's not like it has a ceramic coated mag piston to cover the cost for anymore.
