STIHL 2 stroke vs STIHL 2-Mix engine: ( Link below )
Link

Sounds like a stratified chainsaw. Never heard anyone call it a 2 mix engine, I’ve heard it called strato. Stihl also has a 4 mix engine with valves that burns mixed gas to further confuse the matter. I’m not going to call it a 2 mix even if stihl does.

The MS 363 is NOT the manual carb version of the MS 400.1 C-M
This is a fact you all should keep in mind

MS 400.1 = 2-stroke 2-Mix engine
MS 363 = 2-stroke engine ( no 2-Mix )

i.e. you won´t see the MS 363 in regions with higher emission standards like EU, USA, ....

Stihl 363 pics out of Facebook

Apparently it is sold in Ukraine, also said to other Eastern European countries and ofcourse the South America and Asia.

Muffler design is interesting, looks like or behaves like a pipe. Too big for 60cc. IMG_4923.jpegIMG_4922.jpegIMG_4921.jpeg

Guy mentioned that 363 is way stronger than 361, stock saws

If it's true this would be another legendary king in the clas
A 363 might be the way to go for guys thst distrust Mtronic to step up to a modern 60cc saw. That's assuming it doesn't have a different cylinder than the 400.1, which isn't out of the question. I bought a German made 361 from over seas and it came with an open port cylinder.

They are different. The 400.1 ist a Strato saw and the 363 is a old style no strato saw.
No that you mention that I believe I read that. What are the HP specs for the 363 vs the 400.1?

As is the case with MS 382 it's available in Ukraine and several southern European countries.
And like MS 382, it should be available in Mexico, if anyone in the States is interested.

Thanks. Probably don't have any interest in the 363.

It’s a 60cc class saw like the 562 it’s not going to like to be reefed on. But plenty will stick a 32” bar on it with skip tooth chain and *b-word because it doesn’t oil or pull it well.
I forgot about this thread and didn’t follow it. It amazes me to see folks like HotSaws 101 and other west coast guys port the 362 and cut timber with them with a 32” bar. That wood must be a lot softer than the hardwoods or even yellow line we have.

I'm from the upper midwest, but now live in the west. The wood is extremely soft.

1 saw to rule them all

I'd like to try a 363 or 400.1 but my guess is it would be for me like the Husqvarna 359 was too much for limbing and running way to hard in the 18-20" hardwood. Probably have to pass and grab a 592xpg and retire the 038

400.1 would more than likely run just fine in 18-20” hardwood if it’s similar to the old style 400

Yes, it must be a mile different. I just got done milling some hickory and did some ash a few days ago. Those aren't even that hard. Black locust and white oak deserve their own super duper extreme hardwood category.
