Maybe give them a call Monday and tell them you need it for work. They may do the photos and release form.
Was the 461 run lean or is there a internal issue with them??So, if there are no heat issues with a 461, what happened to this piston?
You read my mind, I told the detective that it's used for work that's why I believe they found the *a-hole quicklyMaybe give them a call Monday and tell them you need it for work. They may do the photos and release form.
Jeff is a stand-up guy. Everyone has been very supportive on this forum as I go through this dilemma. You're a good dude man.
I've taught and trained cops over the years and most are solid guys just trying to keep their head above water.
It's cool you're offering your advice to guys in peril. Kudos.
Bad case bearings, rod bearing, cylinder bolts loose, ...hard to say. But if there was a heat issue it would present itself in the form of melting aluminum or a bearing seizing, not in a broken piston skirtSo, if there are no heat issues with a 461, what happened to this piston?

Or defect in the piston. If those things were problems, then why did it run just fine with a new piston? The only thing I could "guess" what happened is the piston got too hot and touched the impulse nipple. It was right in line with the damage to the piston Likely was run with a dull chain.

I'm thinking maybe a worn piston might slap and do it. Or a defect maybe. 661 does it too. There's a thread on here about it, and the 1st one I ported for Rodney did it. Both on the bottom left intake skirtOr defect in the piston.
I wouldn’t say that 461’s have any specific issues. Guys out west put *s-wordloads of hours on em.
Glad you got your saw back.lucky this time. Just wish I could of took it home. But never the less I seen it and it is still complete and no damage.
Jeff, they would not tell me his name just he's 27yrs old and resides nearby.
Probly not telling me so I would not take matters into my own hands!
Young guy must be getting paid by the hour.Glad you got your saw back.
I didn't get my nos alpina 600p
Back from my house break in.
But when the cop's caught the thief
They told me immediately who he was
And where he lived.
A bit of encouragement i thought
But i would've got in more trouble than him.
A positive note his modular home was repossessed.
Here's a good 462 vid
