Ever read fuel or gas mileage posts? Same thing usually applies to what people paid for saw posts…How? We just sold our last 461at retail priceabout a month ago...

So it didn’t cost you $900 new, it cost you $1100 new. Only would have been $900 if you were an American buying it. Shipping would have ate that up easily putting it near $1050ish.
Had a big ash tree to buck up, threw the new 24” bar in. & got nothing but smoke; was cursing but took a closer look at the chain & rakers needed to come down. Did a little filing & she was like a hot knife through butter. Thing of beauty!I was sure I was done buying saws and ended up picking up a lightly used 400c.
Put a 20" Tsumara Light bar on it and I am impressed with power and weight. It's all I've ran the last couple of days cutting.
I have a few ported saws, but I think this one will stay a stocker.
I could only get through 30 seconds of that video. Unwatchable LOL.For all you MS400 owners, is old mates assessment correct? He's saying it runs like a badly ported saw.
Plenty of revs but boggy, he does say he's only put 3-4 tanks through it. Personally, I'd be waiting until it's fully broken in before making a video.
He's good for a laugh sometimes. He'll often follow up saying he doesn't know much about much with a strong opinion. I can appreciate that he enjoys figuring stuff out and will admit all his dumb mistakes.I could only get through 30 seconds of that video. Unwatchable LOL.
The few minutes i ran one that came into the shop for a routine maintenence, i wasnt impressed at all... it ran like a slightly stronger stock ms362... i would dare say a timing advance and muffler mod on a 362 would push it noticably faster than a stock 400... i would also say my ms362 with a muf mod is even or slightly ahead of the 400 i ran... and my 362 only has 5 tanks of gas on the new piston and rings, so it isnt even broken back in yet (came to me straight gassed but was able to clean out the transfer and reuse the stock cylinder, saw is a 2019, so the better slant fin head)For all you MS400 owners, is old mates assessment correct? Value of bigger magnesium piston 400s may have just gone up.Just saw this on YouBoob. The man states that the new ms 400 is going to be 62cc instead of the current 66cc. And they're shaving 300+ grams of weight. Interesting.....
I feel like they were cutting into the 462 series with a saw that weighted less and had near hp output. So they redesigned & nerfed it, all to say the best weight to hp in its class.
