That's just an oil pocket...
Now you know what dosent work for you.
Couldn't tell from the video, did you try and drop the bar into the squish, trying to use the whole insert?
Or set the cut and feed it to the edge?
Whoopsie!
It wasn't a good video but I brought it .002 up from squish and then ran it over until I touched the edge. Completely wrong style of cutter for what I was tryin to accomplishThat's just an oil pocket...

Do you have any minty and rare cylinders you want me to work on for ya Ted?I don't know nothing about what you're doin...but would love to come watch you wreck a cylinder in person.
It's at least .250" and I already dropped the jug .075. It ain't gunna workLooking at that how high up did it go through the plating? With the crown to the ring there may be still hope. When i had a guy cut my squish band he didnt have it centered and cut the plating but it did not effect where the ring rode and i out it together and she is still holding a strong 200 on the comp.
No My cylinder collection sucks really. Nothing minty or rare. My break dance moves are impeccable though.Do you have any minty and rare cylinders you want me to work on for ya Ted?
Oh Lawdy if that brazed carbine bar gouged those insert bars would really do a number if they got away .
I didn't pay much attention to that mill but if it's like a Bridgeport you can tighten the spindle bearings if they have any slop in them .
I've been guilty of forgetting to lock down the table before cutting with an offset type of bar and that can screw you up too .Then again people who don't fork up on occasion usually are arm chair quarter backs who don't do anything but talk chit about something .Invention is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration .
