Isn't that angled bar designed to give a little lift to the front of the log when you pull it??? In other words, shouldn't you have it a bit tighter?

How do you like that 240?
Ironic you posted this today Heath, have been using it for the past two days. It's a bad little skidder. When we bought it we found out it had upgraded axles to support dual tires for swamping. I like that skidder, strong, well made, good winch too.

Anyone have one of these from Country ATV? I like the tire size, but trying to figure out how you would modify it to support a 8 ft log off the ground. It's designed to lift the front of the log and skid the back.

I've run my friends a fair amount and it's built like a tank. Works pretty well with just a 4x4 atv.

These work pretty slick as it takes most of the weight off the ground. You can skid a big load with an ATV/UTV.

Cool thread. I’ve been thinking about building an arch and there’s lots of good designs to look at in here. My little Farmall Super A definitely doesn’t cut the mustard when hooking up to anything big...maybe I should buy a new tractor too:)

Absolutely. Pulled 12'6" long by 20" oak no problem. Rig it right and only the back few feet drag.

Which axles?

Do you know the weight of it?

Year model?

Is it stick steer or steering wheel?
I also love B series cummins, best engine ever made in my opinion.

It's a 92, it has 380 axles under it (but is a 240 chassis), it's a stick steer, weighs in right around 16k lbs wet.

My Polaris 570 is a little larger than most ATVs (it is not a small nimble one), but you can haul a pretty large log if you keep the front of it from not digging into the ground. That is all my little device is designed to do.

I'll haul smaller logs 3 or 4 at a time. For someone w/o any real heavy equipment, this is the ticket!

My "heavy duty" tools are the 2010 Ford Escape, a Trailer (can haul 1/2 cord), my 22 Ton Splitter and the ATV.

My logging roads would be pretty tough on any road legal vehicle, and I don't own a tractor.
