This is what I have used to square file my race chain.
Slide a half inch long piece of fuel line on both ends of the tri file , set er up with both adjustments to max and file.
I had a good square file Grandberg jig similar to this Italian made Oregon back in the 1970's early '80s that had more adjustment, but unfortunately I loaned it out and never got it back.
If you're gonna spend 20 hours or more on a race chain, setting this thing up is no more of a inconvenience.
Those 2 silver cutter guides hold the cutter nice and steady as long as your not too gung ho or the file is dull. Make sure the slide guides are tight so the file don't wobble. But I'm not worried about mine wearing out anytime soon, Lol.
Yeah the cutting edge has a couple of knicks in it but that chain has been bouncing around the shop for over 30 years.

You would need a grinder wheel over 2 feet in diameter to make it sharpen chisel bit angles as flat as a file.

Looks like a tweener. Side plate looks really sharp and top looks blunt? Might just be the pic

I didn't mean that in a dik way. I was just sayin' what I saw. I bet it makes a fast chain just by having a good corner. I've noticed on a lot of my cutters that after I sharpen them the working corner is still round. Damn frozen sand
