Not to derail Dans thread but it's 2017 F250 Super Duty extra cab 4x4 6.7 diesel.
Truck was flawless for the first 2500 miles or so. Then I notice this knock and it
is a one cylinder knock. I've taken 2 Ford techs for rides and they both can hear
it. The place I bought it all they do is keep giving me excuse after excuse and pushing
me under the rug. Now it's at another dealer and I haven't heard a word after 10 days
now. During all this my fuel mileage went from just over 17 to 15 and now i'm getting
the famous Ford death wobble when I hit bumps a certain way. Steering wheel comes
right out of your hand and is uncontrollable. This is my forth new Ford truck and the
only one that had no issues is the 2010 with the 6.4. Had a 08 with 6.4 that was a turd
from the first 30 feet I drove it. Then the 1012 they could never fix either. I would never
recommend a Ford to anyone, NEVER.

Lee, sorry about your Ford issues. You are welcome to the Ram side any time.
they might be crude and no where as plush as a Ford or as smooth as a Chevy, but a Cummins is hard to beat.

@Lee H Sorry to hear about the ford issues. That is a bummer. A friend of ours from middleboro has worked on all of the state police fleet out of their garage for over 25 years he's a ford nut. I hear his son is a diesel wizard -- builds them for more power and things like that and apparently is really good. If you want I can try to get his contact info to put you in touch.

@paragonbuilder this is SO tempting. Got the itch I'm like a caged animal lately with this weather and tomorrow will get better and better as the day goes on.
Tonight I'll sharpen the 385 and 372 as they are ready to go and I'll let you know if I decide to venture down that way tomorrow.

Is there an official start time? My fear is I will get there and you guys will have everything cut already -- then we'll be into cuttin cookies LOL. Probably better to start a little later because it is going get less bitter as the day goes and wind should be better.

Perhaps I can bring along that 365 that is all parts and maybe do the bearing and crank assembly. I've got @Mattyo crank installer I need to re-learn how to use :) and I do have new OEM bearings for that along with a crank from a 371 that is ready to rock.

I'll let you guys know!

Hope everyone is surviving this insane cold! Doing OK here for now. Had a water heater crap out, but I'm up and running again.

You guys are a bunch of sick SOB's having a GTG in ths weather, I'll tell you that. LOL

But.................If this was closer, I'd be loading saws in the Jeep right now. Couple hits of moonshine and I might do it anyway. Getting chainsaw cabin fever from not running any saws in weeks.

But I'm either going to wake up with an urge to go or the cold I think I'm getting. Dating a girl that works in the school system is freaking stupid and I suggest everyone avoid it at all costs. In the winter they are around hundreds of sick kids and in the summer they don't even work. :(

Not sure if I can make it Dan. I went to work today. About 45 minute ride. To work was ok. Coming home I gelled a few times. Had to pull over on 95.
I run power service antigel, but with the single digits, it gels up. Only issue I have had with the truck. 2006 Chevrolet Duramax. I gotta find me a heater for my fuel filter. A heated wrap. Lol

My tractor gelled in the filter while in my shed at single digits. First time it's happened...

I put 3.5 to 4 oz of power service per 5 gallons diesel which is 2x what the bottle says for ratio. I forgot to add it for the first time in 10 years this year and gelled! To fix it I added the power service to a full 5 gallon tank (which is in the back away from the engine). I then put a magnetic heater on the tank for several hours and let the machine idle to pull in the treated fuel that was warmed up a bit. No problems since -- new years eve at 0 with ridiculous wind chills no problems. It even collapsed the filter which is bad for the injector pump, but since the treated fuel went in the filter uncollapsed and I've got one on hand I'll change soon. It's been doing really well w/ no filter issues since getting the fuel in there... I've got a filter to install and another as spare -- filter is right back by the tank too, so engine heat doesn't help it :(

Maybe try mixing up 1.5 to 2x the dose of power service. Should be good to 40 below zero with that setup Jeff.

Good luck!

Diesel can be rough in the brutal cold. Saw so many guys with trucks with issues when the ridiculous cold creeped in out of nowhere!
Monday gonna feel like summer!
