I wanted to include the ported 262xp but I don’t have a small mount in 24”.... grrrr. But I have a 20” that takes the same chain as the 361 so I will compare those two when I get a chance.

I would love to have a GTG at my upstate property, but access is difficult and parking is very limited and the Mtn has been logged, so there is no big wood, so it is just not feasible!

Between this and NY, I will really miss not seeing everyone this year! Hopefully there will be some GTGs later that will include some of the familiar faces.
Like to see some of the purdy faces!

I wouldn’t run the saw until you fix or replace the decomp. The top mount ones can fall straight into the cylinder and destroy the saw. The side mount won’t fall into the cylinder if they fail. If a saw has a lot of compression or 80-90cc I like a decomp. If they aren’t too high or stock... I just plug them because it idiot proofs the saw. I must have 5-10 failed/leaky decomps in the drawer of my toolbox I threw in there. Got them from various saws in the past year that were here.

I'd plug it if it was mine.

I like decomps on all my saws (wish my 026 and 044had them). Other than gluing the caps on the Asian ones, have not had any problems with them.

When you have to re start a warm saw while balancing on top of a log pile … I'll take a decomp every time!
