I actually was already running 2x the dosage and keeping my tank full. I modified my fuel system and run 2 tall can CAT fuel filters. They are out there in the elements and gel for some reason. I usually carry a heat gun so I can just warm the can from the outside and that usually does it, but not today for some reason. I saw more big diesel trucks on the side of the road this morning than I have seen in a very long time. Maybe some bad fuel up here? Maybe the fuel companies are not cutting the fuel with enough additives? Not sure what the deal is here. I will see this coming week when it gets above freezing.

winnee the poo anyone?

I know, I'm in an odd mood.

@Spike60 any chance you have an oem 272xp starter sitting around? used is ideal, as long as it fits ... don't much care if it says 272 or not.

Mine won’t get shut off tonight. Just in case I need it. Nice thing about diesels, they burn very little fuel at idle.

OMG. Your gonna idle it all night? I was under the impression that idling too much washes the pistons and cylinders down. Not good for the engines. Or is that just the newer engines?

I’m not sure what that even means? Lots of service trucks with pto’s idle all day, never heard of issues from it.
I let it run during storms also, takes to long to warm up when I need to plow. And less scraping...

Big rig trucks are different for some reason. When the pistons wash, the diesel fuel breaks down the lubricating oil from the oil sump and is not good for the piston or cylinder in pickup truck engines.
Big rigs idle differently. Not exactly sure how to explain it.
If you have good luck idling your Dodge, then stick with it. Maybe it is specific to Duramax's? Not really sure. [emoji848]

Well a quick google search shows that you are correct Jeff. It is best. To raise the idle above 1000 rpm for extended idling.
Truck has 300k if it goes it goes... lol

Heck no...if it's not sunny and dry out my Cummins stays home. I'll drive one of my cars....mercedes, camaro, corvette or some beater.
