Agreed. My stepdad got 20 years out of one and I know he is not kind to machinery. Only time the oil was changed was when I took a notion to do it for him.
I change the oil in mine once a year maybe. It always looks fresh. Probably about 20 hours run time. The weight really isn't much of an issue hanging off a harness. I got this one to maintain a property we bought with a 1 1/2 acre yard and a blackberry infestation from hell. Mowed the whole yard with it a handful of times, about 4 hours constant before I put my foot down with accounting and demanded we get a lawn tractor.

Went to get the 251 today. Price was $679 as opposed to 749 for the smaller fs240. They had 7 240s and this 1 251. I bought a brush blade, some .105line and a 6 pack to get extended warranty. The 251 had a 15% off coupon taped to it. Sale was good from 5/15 to 6/4. The cashier and lead cashier honored it without looking at the particulars. So got it for $577.00

What is the best trimmer head I can get for this trimmer? Not really a fan of the 27-2 it came with. Looking at the 36-2 as it can run up to .130 line. Anything out there aftermarket that I can speed feed and not have to disassemble the head to reload like the 27-2? All my other trimmers I push the line thru the head (Husq/ maruyama/ Kawasaki) and then twist it to respool the line.

Can You get these over the pond?
They are rated for 3.0mm/.118" round line , but I am running 3.0mm/.118" square (flat to flat) in it which is more like 4.0mm/.157" corner to corner.
It is a push through & wind up bumper head and I am loving it.

They come with a single nut and it is M10x1.25mm, so You may have to adapt it to Your weedeater.

These are on sale for 10€ local to me, I got myself 4 of them.
Watch out for cheap copies, apparently they pop open and fly apart - wrong word spelling in the plastics is a dead giveaway.
