Echo has a new horizontal cylinder rear handle saw that looks pretty sweet and likely costs alot less than others which have been mentioned. That being said, I love my CS-400. It is lightweight, has an adjustable oiler, and pretty strong for it's size. You can get them under $300.00 new on sale.

I believe that is the rear handle version of the top handle saw we have now. Good little runner so far.

Well, I sent the email to order a 241 a few minutes ago. I was leaning that way anyway, but just wanted to see what else might be out there I was overlooking. The dealer had it in stock and I talked him into switching it over to 3/8 picco for me before he shipped it. This one will be coming from them instead of the warehouse. Should be here tomorrow.

Great choice. You're gonna love it, I'm certain. My MOFO 026 running Picco is by far my favorite saw.

Picco spur: 6 T Picco rim: 7 T. Either way, you should be well pleased. Mine wears a LW 16" bar with a 55 DL 63PS chain. The thing just rips! 12.5 lbs. soakin' wet...

Well, the 241 finally showed up without damage this time. The first one was busted up by UPS. Since they already had it registered to us, they wanted to fix it. I had to convince them otherwise. I opened up the box last night and it came with a spur drum. Is this standard on these saws? Does anyone have the part number for the rim sprocket kit for the 241?

Thanks

It's not very cool in these parts, but I'm a fan of the 6t spur on these. The lower chain speed extends how long 3/8lp stays sharp. Less of an issue when you are in a bucket and cutting clean wood of course.

I don’t know why they come with 6t spur drives. I’ve put the 7t rim drive on stock and ported 241s with no issues.

I'm loving Picco. It's on my MOFO 026, 200t and was on my 011. I'd run it on everything if it were practical. I can't say I'm having issues with cutter life or sharpening duration.

Hell, I ran my ported 026 all evening today, even on 30" petrified ash. It was cutting like a boss all the way up to the end.

I guess I'm in the stone age running .325 pitch on both of my Stihl 026 Pro's. One of these days I'll try experimenting. But, .325 works so well that I hate to take the plunge. Just MHO.
Im thinking of goin back to .325 i didnt see much gain.then its *b-word to file, files are so thin they bend and break, dont stay sharp as long, and gotta get custom made loops.were you can go buy a box .325 63 gauge 74 link rs anywere
