Two out of three of these were damaged during Helene relief efforts, and they were declared a total loss. Some braindead private on autopilot let one get crushed by a falling tree after getting the bar wedged and stuck. Guess the Guard doesn't like sending off saws for repairs. Almost got my hands on the damaged ones; I intended on fixing them up. It is what it is.

Forest Service is the same way, if it ends up costing more than 1/2 the price of the saw, it gets tossed and they get a new one. I was able to pull 4 Huskys (562, 576 and two 372s) out of the burn pile before they got burned and with about $100 in parts got three of them running for them.

Yeah at least they’re cheap saws they’re buying. Hard to justify 80-100$ an hour plus parts on a 400$ saw

Very true. I found some older Stihl models (not familiar with Stihl all that much) in one of the supply cages, and they looked pretty pricey. Inoperable of course. They were covered in a mountain of dust so they must’ve cheaped out a while back.

Send Elon a note about the waste…
Might net you some free saws 🤣
