A local guy dropped this off on Friday, says "It need an overhaul". I haven't even pulled the muffler yet but he said the piston was badly scored.

Assuming worst case scenario, where do you go for piston/cylinder, seals, gaskets, etc.?

Thanks,

Mark

It's not worth fixing just send it to me and I will dispose of it properly 😁

I check Duke's first:

DUKE'S CRANK OIL SEAL SET FITS HUSQVARNA 181 281 288 394 395 385 390 3120 2100 2101 $3.50
THE DUKE'S GASKET AND OIL SEAL SET FITS HUSQVARNA 394XP 395XP (this has the oil seals too, I just linked the top in case you wanted an extra set). $10.00
DUKE'S CRANK BEARING SET FITS HUSQVARNA 288 3120 394 395 K1250 K950 K960 $9.00
THE DUKE'S PERFORMANCE COATED PISTON FITS HUSQVARNA 394XP 56MM $ 21.00 (I like these, used three so far!)

Unfortunately no cylinders, not sure if you are wanting to get OEM or AF. There are other parts available for the 394 at Duke's, though you can't find the saw in the drop down, in the search bar just type "Husqvarna 394" and there should be about 5 pages of parts (including bars) that will show up.

Edit: In your photo of the 394, you have a Mac behind it, is it spray painted or powder coated? It looks purdy!!

Thanks for the replies. I won't tear into this saw until next week (leaving for the Mastermind GTG tomorrow), I will know more at that point.

As I understand it Mike Baudoux (Glock 57) did the powder coat on that 640. Dan Proft (Woodslasher) started the restoration and moved on so he sent it to me. The starter cover was damaged in shipment so I will deliver another cover to Mike this week at Mastermind's to see if he can match the powder.

Made a decomp button for my buddy's 372 out of a 45 acp case, cut the case in half, filled with plastic mix, after curing for 48 hrs drilled a hole in it and mounted it with epoxy, we'll see if it holds up and for how long, hope he likes it.

Should have used a 6.5x55 case.
