Well I just got a whole "L65" in trade instead of just the air cleaner, and I did a plastic straw measurement of the jug and it mics out to 52 something , so error for measuring device Im gonna assume that someone swapped out the jug and piston in this saws life. One thing the p/o told me is he never saw a 65 with the plug exposed through the top cover.
View attachment 241076 I'm pretty much just learning about the old Huskies though so I'm glad you told me about the casting #s not being related to the bore size.

That plug coming through the top cover means you have an L77, not a 65. :)

Thanks Bob , I'm just getting into these saws and I wasn't totally sure what it was because of the l65 badge.
Do you know if there's a intake block available for it?
Also if you dont buy yourself an impact driver of some kind I'm going to start a charity to get you one! Honestly I don't know how I lived before these battery operated things.

Can someone help me identify the year on this 262xp. It has the pocket in the tank handle. I see it has the 87 carb. Any guess as to what cylinder it has?
Thanks

Here's one of the hl supply 268/272 filters20200520_150621.jpgseems well made
The rubber is very soft on top
I might glue a square of plastic to it to strengthen
It.
But it may not be a problem.
Here's a 97 272 I got for parts20200520_123750.jpgbut after spray foaming and pressure washing it's in great shape
20200520_125021.jpg20200520_134018.jpgstuck ring
I'm going to rebuild it.

Got the 160S paint mostly removed and she is ready to get a new Base Layer and a RAL 2009 Expoxy Lackr finish afterwards.

@MACHINE: i will use RAL 2009. Maybe not 100% the correct original color, but fits the husqvarna one pretty well. I will do a complete repaint, ones the weather here gets better. The rubber mounts you can find on ebay. Part No: 501269702
Mean while started fixing the badly messed up ignition coil. Gave it new Isolation on the copper wires and did all the multimeter measurements to ensure its working.

The 365 a guy gave me is in pretty good shape ,

Rubber mounts have been the DEVIL to find

Bar was bent on it, so a new bar and chain is needed , what length you use??

Different bushing,

I went to local hardware and found rubber plugs , made the av buffers and worked out perfectly.

P & V the saw a few minutes ago,
Could not be more happy with the test , held both sides of test 5 minutes.

This is going to make a great saw .

Waiting on a tank vent and it will be ready to finish

Needed very little to get it running. Going to leak check it before I mess anything up.
As seen has some exterior cleaning.
Has the HS 224 and an 8 pin rim sprocket.
Anyone know if the 8 pin was how it left the factory?
Saw seems a lot less used than advertised.

As base i use "Nigrin Haftgrund-Spray". Its a car painting base. As color lackr i will use "Büchner Erbedol" which is an impact resistant machine Painting (Usually used for farm Equipment).
