Not always. I have a mystery Husky cylinder with a 50Z designation that's closer to 48mm -- 47 and high change actually.

Well I just got a whole "L65" in trade instead of just the air cleaner, and I did a plastic straw measurement of the jug and it mics out to 52 something , so error for measuring device Im gonna assume that someone swapped out the jug and piston in this saws life. One thing the p/o told me is he never saw a 65 with the plug exposed through the top cover.
20200510_142042.jpg I'm pretty much just learning about the old Huskies though so I'm glad you told me about the casting #s not being related to the bore size.

I hardly meant to be definitive. Just citing an example of an exception to what the casting may seem to otherwise indicate. Bear in mind Husky used several cylinder manufacturers also.

Ok , so are there any indicators on the cylinder that would help me identify what I have?

I think @jacob j. may know those I.D.'s fairly well. @Spike60 may also be able to shed some light.

That plug coming through the top cover means you have an L77, not a 65. :)

Thanks Bob , I'm just getting into these saws and I wasn't totally sure what it was because of the l65 badge.
Do you know if there's a intake block available for it?
Also if you dont buy yourself an impact driver of some kind I'm going to start a charity to get you one! Honestly I don't know how I lived before these battery operated things.

Can someone help me identify the year on this 262xp. It has the pocket in the tank handle. I see it has the 87 carb. Any guess as to what cylinder it has?
    Thanks[IMG][IMG]

I'm going with the 588th saw built during the 17th week of 1990.

The HDA-87 carb would usually indicate a K&S or Gilardoni cylinder.

Here's one of the hl supply 268/272 filters 20200520_150621.jpg seems well made
The rubber is very soft on top
I might glue a square of plastic to it to strengthen
    It.
But it may not be a problem.
Here's a 97 272 I got for parts 20200520_123750.jpg but after spray foaming and pressure washing it's in great shape
    20200520_125021.jpg 20200520_134018.jpg stuck ring
    I'm going to rebuild it.

Got the 160S paint mostly removed and she is ready to get a new Base Layer and a RAL 2009 Expoxy Lackr finish afterwards.

@MACHINE: i will use RAL 2009. Maybe not 100% the correct original color, but fits the husqvarna one pretty well. I will do a complete repaint, ones the weather here gets better. The rubber mounts you can find on ebay. Part No: 501269702
Mean while started fixing the badly messed up ignition coil. Gave it new Isolation on the copper wires and did all the multimeter measurements to ensure its working.

The 365 a guy gave me is in pretty good shape ,

Rubber mounts have been the DEVIL to find

Bar was bent on it, so a new bar and chain is needed , what length you use??[IMG][IMG]
