Looks good. That extra leg on the muffler bracket will definitely come in handy now!

that is a "trimmed" 346XP part. that is a lot of weight hanging out there with no support. it was a poor design on Husky's part on these saws.

Guess I am confused, then. Coulda swore you posted a pic of a 288 recently. If you do run across one, don't sell it!

Ya, I wish I hadn't sold the 266!!!! But at the time I needed the money more than I needed the saw.

This is the coil in my 77 , the saw does run I'm just changing the seals.
Does anyone know where the kill switch wire is supposed to be?20200502_171003.jpg 20200502_171012.jpg

I've got a breeding pair now! Working on the air cleaner cover for the one. I'll be filling you guys on that after I get the other cover.
I replaced the seals ,rebuilt the carburetor, and put new fuel line in. Still didn't know where the kill wire goes but now I have one the unengineer and figure it out. The great pumpkin runs pretty good for a fourty year old saw. Oils ok on the 24" bar and seems to have plenty of torque cutting full bar in hard pecan .
I'll do more updates on the other saw when I get into it.

Not always. I have a mystery Husky cylinder with a 50Z designation that's closer to 48mm -- 47 and high change actually.

Well I just got a whole "L65" in trade instead of just the air cleaner, and I did a plastic straw measurement of the jug and it mics out to 52 something , so error for measuring device Im gonna assume that someone swapped out the jug and piston in this saws life. One thing the p/o told me is he never saw a 65 with the plug exposed through the top cover.
20200510_142042.jpg I'm pretty much just learning about the old Huskies though so I'm glad you told me about the casting #s not being related to the bore size.

I hardly meant to be definitive. Just citing an example of an exception to what the casting may seem to otherwise indicate. Bear in mind Husky used several cylinder manufacturers also.

Ok , so are there any indicators on the cylinder that would help me identify what I have?
