Husqvarna C83 the best?

Any body else think this is the best cutting, smoothest cutting, fastest 3/8 chain there is right out of the box?
Sure I can make a square ground cut faster but for factory chain it really is quite good.
Always liked stihl rs 23 or 33 but have really come to prefer C83.

Husqvarna X-Cut Full Chisel 3/8" (whichever designation that relates to across different gauges) is hands down currently the best performing chain under all imaginable conditions.

I love it!

P.S./Edit:
Simple round ground profile does the trick, or round filed who prefers it over grinding.

I think the steel is better too... Seems like C83 and RSP have a great lifespan.

C83 or C85...they both cut great off-the-roll. The only off-the-roll chain that cuts faster (and I can't seem to replicate) is the Stihl .325 RSP chain. Even my square ground Oregon .325 chain can't match the RSP...comes close, but doesn't exceed it.

When the 23RSP first came out I bought 2 loops. Did test cuts with one then square ground it. Did timed cuts with both on my ported 346. Thought something was wrong because I didn't get it any faster.

Same here. I have nuttin for better speed than factory ground RSP. Most chain starts to shine as the tooth gets shorter. I don’t have any shorter than half, goes back to long life alloy. PaDan gave me a pretty fresh loop in a saw deal. I know it now has no less than 15 tanks on it and still very sharp. Obviously cutting clean (oak) and being careful. I have wrecked other loops and it suffers being physically smaller than 3/8

Still have 1 and a half roll of C83 plus a partial roll of C33 I believe. Since I don't make them I just ask Edwin @Wood Doctor for them from time to time. Does cut nice.

The factory grind doesn't work well for me (stupid hardwood) but the both the C and S 85 chains are great to use. I like huskies NK and 058, 325 semis as well.

To be able to land at Sydney Harbor and have someone take me to the true outback, awesome.

To look around and see: no people, no electricity, no cell phone signal, and no civilization, would be nice.

All that's left: heat, sand, cangaroos, and them hard woods to cut.

That would be a dream come true, even on a factory grind.

I've heard a ton of great things about the Husqvarna X-Cut chains. I'd be open to trying it, but I prefer semi-chisel, and all my bars are .050. It seems that S83 is only available with the guarded drive link. My go-to has been Stihl RM33, but it seems that isn't what it used to be.

I do have a MS361 that needs a new bar. Maybe it's time to start the transition to .058...

Looks like it isn't even a valid option anyway. The S85 isn't available in the states anyway... EU and AU only.

The loops of chains I have right now are the Husqvarna c83 xcut and the Duke's original chain. The Duke's chain is basically a copy of the xcut with the exaggerated top plate which makes both it and the xcut very aggressive out of the box. Probably have 9 or 10 loops of each brand currently and have easily used up 3 times that in the past. I cut all hardwood and honestly can't tell a difference between the two in how they cut or retain an edge. Both are excellent in my humble opinion.
