I know It was weird first seeing the 462 with the single dog with holes through it and the short bar. It looked so 'fisher Price'. I get it. It's powerful and light and people running 50 & 60cc saws can identify with it. That makes sense with that saw.Idk what it is with these new saws and them doing that... even the 462 I tested same deal. One small dog and a metal catch too. Must be a cost cutting measure or to get the “spec” weight down for those who pay too much attention to that stuff.
Especially since they have the 500 following.
These are also the only saws I have ever paid attention to on line. I see different things that I see walking into a saw shops. In north BC & Alberta many small mid size saws like 357 would be rigged on the shelf with 2" dogs and a wrap. Seems strange not to have a 2nd dog on a saw as big as the 572.
I can only remember the 262 coming with a single dog? I could even buy off the shelf, a dummy dog without spikes for thinning. Possibly many 362/365/371 just came with the single dog and roller catcher? I just can't remember? I thinned so I would have taken it off anyway and forgotten about.
