I’m a Stihl guy but for the king of power in a 50cc ported saw the 346xp seems to win most of the time. This doesn’t mean that for other reasons someone may not like the 550xp or ms 261c better.

I hear great things about them. I’ve only been around one once. I helped my buddy clear fence lines from storm damage. He had a ported 346. We never did a scientific, timed test but there wasn’t a noticeable difference cutting similar sized wood. My buddy had never even heard of a 241. I let him run it and he was very impressed.

There is a reputable builder post on arbor something saying he preferred his ported 241 over his 346.

Either way, both are good saws. Run whatcha like, I do.

I have not owned either a 400c or a 462. I have had several 460's and 461's. I would go with whatever feels best in your hands. I doubt you would be disappointed with either being ported. But if I had to pick one it would be a 462 .

I ended up getting the 462c yesterday. I got to run 3 tanks of fuel through it this morning. I ran a 20” light bar on its maiden voyage in some oak logs. It’s a very impressive saw in stock form and seemed to run better each tank full. I’ll need to catch up on firewood chores but hope to send it out soon for porting.

I ended up getting the 462c yesterday. I got to run 3 tanks of fuel through it this morning. I ran a 20” light bar on its maiden voyage in some oak logs. It’s a very impressive saw in stock form and seemed to run better each tank full. I’ll need to catch up on firewood chores but hope to send it out soon for porting.

When you get up around 10 tanks it will be to full stock power probably
