Really? I’m curious as to where I can find some. I can’t find any of those old 2 coil style top covers. I’m hoping that jonsered one will fit otherwise I’ll be looking for one
The 266 topcovers are extremely rare
I need three myself
Some of mine are shattered.

Sweet. I love the looks of the old grey tops. That’s why I figured if the 630 topcover fits it would be kinda the best of both worlds. Has anyone done this?
To use a 630 top cover on a husky you would have to install the studs in the back 2 holes so the air filter cover can be fastened down. Other than that I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Are they just double threaded end studs?

And don't forget, the 630 top cover can be either style.

Here's my last remaining 61/272 series saw, a locally ported 272. A buddy did the port work and sold it to my brother, who gave it to me for my birthday. It had an aftermarket clutch cover on it which broke, so I put an oem cover on and swapped out the off color ccp top cover for a nice oem one I had. I also put one one of my full wraps, a 281 brake flag to clear the full wrap, and had a set of larger 288 style dogs made for it so it wouldn't fall on it's face due to the full wrap. It has taken a back seat to my 562 for the "favored saw" title, but it is still my second favorite saw to run.

I just need to fix some deteriorating wiring.
Seals, carb kit, fuel line and piston kit
The bearings are tight so I'll run them.

So...which covers (besides a 272 cover) will fit a 272 cyl?

black/gray 61/66 tops? 266 tops. Jred tops?

Sounds like maybe just the earlier small cc saw covers do not.

@Johnmn I may be interested in one of yours.
Thanks

Kind of a question, kind of some info to add:

I have three 2 piece coil cases here...I’m planning to fit later 61 covers to two them (unless someone has some 266 or black tops, I prefer that slimmer look) One for a 266 cyl and one for a 272. I noticed two of my cases have “meat” available to drill and tap the front screw, but one does not. Unfortunately, that one is missing it’s tag. It’s supposed to be an older 61.
