Last night efforts, old stinky dog fox and pup. Shot the dog at 220m thru the neck, very moonlit night, night vision was working great.

Geissele makes a fine trigger. Timney's ain't bad either.
I have a couple of each and don't prefer one over the other.
I also have one of the upscale triggers from Ruger. It's Good but not the equal of the other two.
I've never used a LaRue, I'd like to hear some feed back.

Mine has the sd3 gun single action and a leopold 2x7 x50 vrx red dot on a sig rm 400 enhanced 1 and 7 twist

I've never used a LaRue, I'd like to hear some feed back.

I have never owned a Geissele nor a Timnwy, but my LaRue MBT is amazing, and I cannot see how a more expensive trigger would be worth the money. I use mine on my SBR lower that is always suppressed, I have never cleaned it nor the lower despite the blowback from shooting suppressed. No issues whatsoever, nice crisp, clean 2 stage.

The fun store had the Nikon Buckmasters II 4-12x40 on sale for $129.95 so I got one for my .257 Roberts. My rifle is a Howa 1500 which began life as a .30'06 and received a new 24" magnum sporter contour barrel by E.R. Shaw a few years ago. This rifle will make one hole groups at 100 yards with it's favorite load of 38.5 grains H4350 under a 117 grain Pro Hunter, however it shoots pretty well with just about anything. Tried out the new scope today after work. It works quite well, although the Buckmasters BDC reticle takes some getting used to. Really, this scope is overkill for the places I usually hunt but I 'spose it is better to have too much scope than too little.

One thing I really like is that this scope is longer than most. The Howa receiver is long for a standard length action, and every other scope I have tried on it had the front ring snugged right up against the beginning of the objective bell, even then the eyepiece was still more forward than I like. This scope fits the rifle really well and should be a good choice for any rifle with a longer receiver.

I have been considering a Howa lately. Seems like a good rifle for the money. I'm stuck between a 1500, a Savage weather warrior, or a Tikka T3 (or Sako 85). Not real sure about the newer Remington and "Winchester" rifles and I'm not big on the Browning bolts...

I like the model 70 win that or tika i really like the saftey on the win.and the qay they feel.that 3 position saftey on the bolt is like the old mausers

Out of the 1500, savage or T3, in my opinion the T3 is the pick, ive got the stainless T3 varmint, its been an excellent rifle, and it gets a lot of use.
A mate has a 1500 in stainless, 204cal, its never shot well and the stainless gets rust spots.

The Howa and it's Weatherby branded twin are outstanding rifles. Howa Machine and Tool is a very respected manufacturer of precision machine parts and tools and have been making these rifles for almost 50 years with minimal changes. There are quite a few different stocks and triggers available for them too. The Vanguard in 6.5 Creedmoor has been calling my name for awhile now, I'm gonna eventually break down and trade in some gun equity on one.

I seen. Howa 1500 chassis rifle at a local gun shop here in Alabama. Not a bad feeling rifle for $980.
