That rod that slides through is annoying and switching shell holder's is a pain inthe ass on mine.
Talk about pissed some guy at a gun show when he was looking at sent the slide flying off a berretta 92 custom with night sights hit the floor busted the front sight scratched the slide badly his ass would've paid if it had been me the owner told him to get the hell out lol

Mine doesn't take shell holders. It has a a spring that holds the case in. I just need to swap out the rod when I switch primer sizes.

Very nice i've shot the .480 ruger never got to shoot full house 454 my friend had a freedom arms beutiful gun but only shot reduced loads i think i know why.

I've got a Freedom Arms 4 3/4" Barrel in .454. Absolutely the most I'll tempered handgun I've ever fired.
It's the top gun in the photo below. The other two being a Toklat in .454 and a Super Blackhawk in .480.

The accuracy was impressive with his freedom arms i don't know much about them but to pick up a revolver you've never fired before and hit milk jugs at 50 yard's was nice he paid a lot back then were they 5 shot i can't remember.

They are accurate but pricey. I believe I paid around $1,200, 25 years ago. I got it with the extra cylinder in .45 Colt, adjustable express sights and magnaporting. I bought it to carry while fishing in Alaska. Glad I never had to use it for the intended purpose.

With full power loads and 400gr bullets, an 1885 Hi-Wall will wallop you pretty good. Not punishing but not a gun you want to shoot all day.
For light recoiling loads, I settled on 11gr of Unique under either a 300gr or 405gr cast bullet. With either load, the gun will keep 10 shots under 2" with open sights, at 50 yds, from the bench and is a hoot to shoot.
Last weekend my sons were home and we shot all 100 light loads (50 with each bullet) I'd loaded. We were shooting empty 20lb propane tanks. We started at 100yds and kept moving them a bit farther out until we ran out of ammo. They were a bit over 200yds when we ran dry.
We had a lot of other guns to shoot but every time one of us would put the Hi-Wall down, someone else would pick it up. I took 20rds out to the range with us but ended up going back in the house and getting everything I'd loaded.
It was fun to watch my boys, both tactical gun guys, fight over shooting a single shot Buffalo rifle designed 130+ years ago.
I ordered 500 more cases and two thousand bullets. I'm sure I'll need them.
I guess I need to start looking for a couple more rifles as well.

Thanks for the update! I'm trying to get back into reloading and I'll definitely be asking questions along the way. Got a few things I need to get out the way and then I'll be back on track.

Last weekend my boys and I shot most of the 9mm ammo I had loaded.
This is the the result of a couple of evenings with a Dillon 550.

700 rds loaded with 115gr Hornady fmj bullets and Power Pistol powder.

I'll have to upload a pic but I DID manage to pick up the Ruger 77/357 that I've been wanting for awhile... It's a lot of dun with strong loads and is ridiculously fun with soft .38's... My inner child started giggling like and idiot shooting them yesterday! The mag is a bit of a PITA as compared to a 10/22 for extraction.insertion and imparts a bit of roughness to the action when cycling, but I honestly don't care. It's too much fun! Now for a lever carbine in either .44 Rem Mag or .454 Casull!!!

Love shooting those haven't tried the .454 lever anyone making a .500 yet i haven't checked that would be awesome it's a pleasant round in a smith.
Like a fool i passed on a ruger pc.40 carbine the one i shot before would shoot good for a pistol cal. Carbine 2 1/2 at 40 yds offhand.
Could have bought it for a 115.00 nib.
Discontinued now but i liked them

I'm thinking about getting rid of my SP101 is .22lr and picking up the LCR.

I'm thinking about getting rid of my SP101 is .22lr and picking up the LCR.

I would like to know also. I have fondled a few now at shops but have yet to shoot one. I think it will be my next carry gun after I get the chance to test one out. Not thinking I'll get rid of anything for it though.

The 77/357 is on my bucket list. Probably the next rifle I buy.

I think one of them would be perfect for my kids to shoot and a perfect deer gun for them. (7&9)

We are in a shotgun only zone for deer hunting with the exception of straight walled cases. The 357 is legal here.

They could practice with 38sp for low recoil.

We have a new gun enthusiast. Sons girlfriend said she has never shot a gun before.

So he gave her a crash coarse on a 22 revolver. Then I stepped her up to a 38 down loaded and then up to some hot 357 rounds.

She is pretty natural and good shot just shooting 15'-20'. Only thing she is left eye dominant and right hand shooter.
Let her shoot whatever felt comfortable to her and she did great.

We've been really enjoying shooting golf balls with 38 wad cutters. My son and I set up 3 for each of us on the ground 5 yards out and see who gets 3 fastest. I usually get mine and one of his. Lol. We just started doing auto training with the same deal and two clips. Then he learns to reload fast. I think it's a blast.
