I'm getting his 870 worked over a little by a local shop. Forcing cone lengthened, barrel porting, one custom choke and I might have talked myself into a trigger job on that thing. It's horrible. Is it worth a $100 to have it done? Anyone done a 870 trigger themself?

Here's the local shop.

100 seems steep. I can't remember the place but I bought a spring of the Web for a bunch of my 870s and sp10. Think he was like 6 bucks apiece. Dropped the pull weight in half. Pretty good for a shotgun. Rifle/AR...I would pay that, not for a shotgun

Yeah, I'm going to polish it out myself. The Timney connector kit with three spring weights is $80-110. It IS a new gun, some of the grittyness would go away over time.
I wouldn't count on much going away. I'd do a nice polish but be sure not to take much off.......they get dangerous if you do.....trust me I know lol

p_083050002_1.jpg I've used this on semi auto sears for years sometimes the result's are very impressive smoother less creep feels a little lighter never tried it on shotguns though but might help on any metal to metal contact point they have pre loaded syringes too.

I have the C-S (Compact Small) in .40 w/a .357 Sig drop-in barrel and love the ergos. The grip is a bit too small and I will be ordering a medium and or a large for it due to my hand size. The trigger takes some getting used to, but since I'm used to revolvers, I'm getting a lot more familiar with it.

Dad @Hedgehog recently acquired a F-M P320. The Medium grip fits a bit better and a full-size .40 is pretty nice. The trigger is better (IMO) than Glock, M&P, and XD's and probably only rivaled (in my experience) with the FNS trigger. It's that good. Not gritty, short take-up, no real stacking and almost 0 over travel. It's a lot of fun. For day in/out shooting, military use or daily (non-judicial concerned) carry, the P320 is my choice. For defensive carry as a (although military) non-LEO, I'll take the 250. It would take an act of God for a misfire and the second strike capability for a hard primer is nice for me, before cycling the pistol to a fresh round.
