Right now, I'm focusing on calibers which I have a larger stock of components for and can use lead bullets. I also have a pretty large selection of cheap .22 ammo as I buy them whenever I find good deals.

The key is getting there when they open. Within 15-20 minutes the shelves are empty again.

I believe you are right. At one local shop the guy at the counter said there were 100 people waiting outside to get in before the store opened.
But we are not seeing reasonable prices here as were mentioned.

Damn, that's a pretty one.
I've been looking for another of those. The first one I had was a POS.

Thanks. It's a 1981 model, I paid a whopping $250.00 for it in 1998. I've turned down a few $1000.00 offers for it, it's too sweet to let go. Never found a load that wouldn't shoot at least decent through it, my favorite is 7.2 grains of dearly departed IMR 4756 under a Lee 358-125-RF. It wears a Lyman 66 receiver sight with the factory bead front. My daughter will end up with it when I croak - if she is a good girl. If not, then it's getting buried with me!

Ruger now owns Marlin, and I would look for them to get the 1894 back pretty soon as it compliments their single actions.

Good price on the Wrangler.
At $1.20/rd, I understand why the shelf of V-Crown is well stocked.

I've thought about a Wrangler to stick in the tool bag I keep in the Gator.
Let me know what you think of it, after you shoot it.

I have a Single Six convertible but they have gotten so stupid expensive that I hate to beat it up.

@Hinerman
Here's that same gun store with a different accidental discharge.

I tried to find the newspaper article but I didn't find it.
But last year in a local paper
This guy went to a gun store in parkersburg wv
And for some reason without warning tried to pull his pistol out of his waistband.
He got tangled up and it discharged
Squarely shooting through his weak hand
The employees jumped him and held him down until the police got there.
He kept saying he just wanted to show off his gun?
The gunstore actually didn't press charges
They felt his stupidity was punishment enough.
Before this is the same idiot that pointed a loaded .308 fn fal rifle at a friend of mine when my friend dropped
His wife off at his house one time
He said he was just playing around.
He's not allowed to ever be around me or my friend.

Only had .22lr for me. Got 200 CCI Mini Mags for $20
At the moment, that's not bad!
My nephew saw those at a gun show last weekend for $25/100..........and people were buying them.

I'm about the same.
I have plenty of brass and components for the cartridgesI load. When stuff was on sale, I bought in bulk.
Same with .22lr/.22M and .17HMR ammo.

I was thinking about a 6.5 Creedmore but until I can find components at sane prices, it's on hold. I have plenty of other rifles to shoot.

What did you find and how expensive?

Bought some 5.56 ammo less than $1.00 a round.
Some practice ammo in 9mm for .80 cents a round.
In this area those are decent deals.

I like what I'm learning about 6.5 Creedmore, but with things in the market the way they are it's just not time for me to move in that direction.
It doesn't look like ammo prices are going to calm down any time soon. Parts availability in some areas are sparse on things that are sought for.
