I remove the air injection plastic scoop and block up the hole on some of my Stihl saws. Ryan's filter assembly is leaking. No amount of grease of funky pre-filter will change that problem, it may make it slightly better but if something is not sealed, its not sealed. I'd rather air enter the airbox from the back of the saw than being sucked in by the cooling fan that draws heaps of air/dust from the front of the saw. The system kinda sucks IMO but it can be made better. It looks great in promo brochures but that's about it. When running saws for work tank after tank you don't want to be messing with grease and stuff, you just want a filter system that does its job.
