Maybe if your outfit has a Husqvarna saw in the inventory I would pick that on the dirtier jobs, I see that the new Stihl's are finally coming out with air injection on them. Eventually this will help you operators out with this problem.

Well, I've never seen an HD2 filter come WITHOUT the prefilter. So there!

You sure the genius who's installing your filters isn't also trashing the prefilters as "packing material"?
I'm not gonna call you a dipshìt or anything, but you just proved everyone else right. Each of those products has their own part number. The HD2 doesn't come with the pre-filter band, you bought it separately

Maybe he has a good dealer that automatically sets up the sale that way.
I can only speak for myself, I set up other guys saws the same way with both filters.

I understand that. It's not a bad way to go at all. But if I show a picture of a dolmar clutch cover and a husky recoil on my kitchen table together, would anyone assume that they went together?

The best filter setup I’ve seen on a saw is the one on a 395. Stays clean forever and you can even oil it if you want with k an n oil, nothing will pass through guaranteed. Has a screw clamp holding it on too.

Well I have to agree with Ryan, you pay over $1000 for a new saw and it filters like crap, best selling point for a Husky or Makita is that it's not a Stihl. Maybe HD III will be here soon.

Reckon not, least ways I always had to purchase separately.

It's not the filter it's self it's the fact they have no air injection like husky.

I agree Hooskie has good filtration. But those tests are flawed from the get go. Unrealistic. Biased.

Oil the filters with k and n oil that let fines through the media. Never had a problem after that. It does not affect flow initially, although it will stop up faster.
