The cheap white filter media Chinese filters work well too. Just sayin.
As well as the Hyway brand prefilter.

Lol.I have never had stuff like that get past an HD-2. Someone don't know how to install a filter.
Probably some of the same folks who can't figure out a flippy cap!
I'm not gonna call you a dipshìt or anything, but you just proved everyone else right. Each of those products has their own part number. The HD2 doesn't come with the pre-filter band, you bought it separatelyWell, I've never seen an HD2 filter come WITHOUT the prefilter. So there!

You sure the genius who's installing your filters isn't also trashing the prefilters as "packing material"?

I understand that. It's not a bad way to go at all. But if I show a picture of a dolmar clutch cover and a husky recoil on my kitchen table together, would anyone assume that they went together?Maybe he has a good dealer that automatically sets up the sale that way.
I can only speak for myself, I set up other guys saws the same way with both filters.
The best filter setup I’ve seen on a saw is the one on a 395. Stays clean forever and you can even oil it if you want with k an n oil, nothing will pass through guaranteed. Has a screw clamp holding it on too.

It's not the filter it's self it's the fact they have no air injection like husky.Well I have to agree with Ryan, you pay over $1000 for a new saw and it filters like crap, best selling point for a Husky or Makita is that it's not a Stihl. Maybe HD III will be here soon.
Oil the filters with k and n oil that let fines through the media. Never had a problem after that. It does not affect flow initially, although it will stop up faster.i have never had this problem and our aussie redgum is only stopped by one filter a stihl HD2
husky have never had one yet that will stop it .
on the pics the only dust that made it in was what fell in when I removed the filter ....

They are good filters but wont fit anything but an 044/440, 064/066 flat topI think K&N makes a filter for these. Bryan has one I think.
They may work better.

Outerwears repel water if you still have them .That filter was spotless at 6:30 this morning.
2 dead ash trees and 2 box elder's later combined with 3 hours of rain through a 9 hour day that's what you get.
Awesome.
