who's got time to stop and fix things, just get the job done.

That's right. We've got time to spend an hour dicking around with the air filter after every four minutes of runtime ... but we don't have the 5 minutes it takes to fix it once and for all. Job security!

I wanted to know if stihl offered it as a kit as I have never seen it offered that way. the 440 and 660 should have the inner spit back filter in them.

I thought 660 had a plastic baffle? Item 12.

Been a few years since I owned a 660 thou...

It’s even worse on a 661. Max flo is definitely a necessity, not a want.

Just received mine today. Max flow is one way ticket!

Removing the baffle in my experience lets the hd2 get soaked with fuel from spitback ,and when it gets soaked don't flow very well .

That having been said, if I had a guy in the field who couldn't properly install the air filters you'd have a desk job so fast it would make your toes curl. Except for one thing; give somebody like that a desk job and they'd flush the desk and answer the toilet.

Is there one that fits tight in the hd2 ? ones i had were for a 440 with hd1 and did not fit the hd2 right ,and i think on the 461 snd 660 did not fit over the carb stud right ,i may have to look again its been a while since i messed with the filter fit .the k&n fixed my 440 problems and dont need a spitback filter with them ,at least i have not fuel soaked one yet .

You spray the K&N Filter oil on that too Brian? Looks clean inside the outerwears cover. Cover did its job.
