Well, I've never seen an HD2 filter come WITHOUT the prefilter. So there!

You sure the "mechanic" who's installing your filters isn't also trashing the prefilters as "packing material"?
I've never bought one that came with the prefilter.

The prefilter isn't the issue.

The issue is 1) seating the filter on the base properly and 2) sealing the hole in the top with grease.

It's not rocket surgery.

Tomorrow, boys and girls, we'll learn how to use a CRAYON! YAAAAAAAY!
No the issue is how quickly these filters pack full of *s-word

It's the same as an outerwear on these saws..they suck dick for the most part, unless you run them without the cover.

You don't think I clean the filter base and make sure the filter is seated right ? ..

Never came with the filter. It's an option so they can charge you extra.

Do you like every single post on this forum ?

Quickie saws are the only ones I've seen, aside from the older HD filter that had a pre-filter

You better like this post or muh feelings will be hurt.

I'm gonna listen to my motorhead and black sabbath albums today in the shop while I give it hell with the air compressor and do some maintenance work, you guys can let me know if my filter bases are clean enough and if I'm installing these air filters right.

Stay tuned

Maybe talk to the owner and ask him to buy 1 maxflo air filter to compare against the others. It would pay for itself in just the down time. You should be good for a week with continuous use before a cleaning would be required.

I agree Jeff, he's one of my best friends but we would have to buy about 7-8 max-flows and between the money and him not giving a *s-word it ain't gonna happen.

I bet there's 12 or so 036-362s on the shelf that have died from abuse and ingestion..it just is what it is with these dudes.

Don't have a saw new to have a HD2 on it, but it didn't take me long to buy the prefilters after trying to run them without. The pleats pack full of chips and I don't care how you install it it will try sucking from anywhere it can dragging fines with it. I highly recommend using the prefilter it saves you a bunch of grief and your saw runs good all day.
Just put on like normal and everything works out They clean up real quick and easy with some compressed air.

044/440 has a couple hours and the 066 has a full day of cutting on it. No grease and no fines.

It's the best recommendation I have for you Ryan, even though I understand where you are coming from.
