There are now some digital micrometers, makes it easy for us hillbillies that have a hard time reading the old-fashioned kind! They advertise to be accurate to .00001 of an inch.

Yup, been there; nothing but a Starret Last Word for me now!I bought a Mac digital dial indicator for degreeing camshafts. Used it once and went back to using my old dial one. Wonder if the digital micrometers are any better

There's always the sandpaper and flat surface method.Whos closest to me with a lathe or something to deck the bottom of my jug? Lol if huztl is consistent then I can't do a no base gasket build I'll have to deck it or make a certain thickness gasket
