Keep the water up there, we're all full up....heard someone say this has been the wettest spring on record for our area.
Seems like you guys have missed out on a lot of the water so far?
It has been really spotty on rainfall & amounts. I would say within a couple miles of the house is the lowest totals up to last night.

The last one we had around .30” , Chase is 4 miles north had 1.60”, just a mile SW from his house it didn’t even rain.

This is the first excessive amount since early spring here at the house.

Good morning.

72/93.....just miserable.....glad we're working inside.

Tom wired up the panel yesterday. View attachment 462939View attachment 462940
That looks great, very tidy & professional looking.

I always aspired to have mine look like that but usually fell well short.

When your favorite tool is a big f-ing hammer, your tidiness & neatness is usually the first casualty on operations like that.

I saw a lot

91f heading to 102f with plenty of wind. Started to unload some pine that I picked at the corner yesterday and tripped. So much for any profit on this load.View attachment 462633View attachment 462634View attachment 462635View attachment 462636View attachment 462637
Ended up with 10 stitches but otherwise a clean wound with no bone damage. Spent Sunday going to Columbus (1.5 hours), then to Beatrice, 2 hours, and back to Omaha, 1.5 hours, to deliver some fence that my dad had purchased for a rental property but sold the property before getting to the fence. 2 miles from home had a rear tire loose it's thread and blow. Minor damage to the truck and time for new tires as the old ones are 10-years-old and came with the rims when I purchased them.Tire.jpg20250623_075952.jpg20250623_080002.jpg20250623_080011.jpg

Yea around here there are a lot of guys that won’t plant wheat. I had to for a rotation year for alfalfa. Gonna try to get some straw bales off of it also. The ole gleaner did pretty good but doesn’t much care for green stuff. If it was weed free it would be just perfect for the 47 acres on the farm.
If you got a place to put the straw inside till fall, advertise it on marketplace in the fall..

People will buy the stuff for $5.00 a bale for all sorts of stuff. Including decoration.

We put up about 3-4 thousand a year and Jean sells out every year.

Update on the wheat harvest..

First field done. 58 test weight and a little over 90 bushel per acre.
That was probably the best field, although #2 may be close to the same.
#3 has never made 90.. so we are happy for anything over 60 on that one.

Surprisingly, no sprout yet.
