They are really not a nuisance tree around here. These are in a grove north of a barn, there has been one large Catalpa tree there since I was kid. The fences haven’t been cleaned or replaced since they were put in in the 50’s so they had a chance to proliferate.Are the catalpas as much of a nuecence as I think the bradford pear that is turning in to a noxious weed around here?
Catalpas aren’t a prominent tree here & most are yard tees, you seldom see them growing away from a yard or farmstead.
Mulberry, honey locust, autumn olives & red cedars are the prodigious spreaders/nuisances here.
