That is not why I tagged you. People were asking about Alan's ad, and wondering where he is. I thought you had visited him recently and could shed some light. Carry on...
Ahh, didn't catch that. I'm not the sharpest tooth on the saw sometimes.
Alan was sick when we went to visit, so we didn't get to see him. We just visit at the store when we go and Rebekah said he hasn't been feeling well for some time.

Amazon; pricey but good reviews. You can spend a lot more if you want. There is a $150 dollar pinless meter but not great reviews.

After kiln talk today, I watched some videos on how to build one. One guy was using this pinless meter. He seemed like a serious woodworker so I would trust it. Cheaper than above and good reviews too. I want to say it has 100 different wood species to select from.

No *frenching way is this thing right..

I was cutting wood a couple weeks ago at a friends place. The friend pulled out his moisture meter and says check this out. He split some oak a few days before. He asked me if this wood was seasoned. The surface was reading 14-15%. I told him anything under 20 is considered seasoned. Then I took the piece to the splitter and split it and said now check it---33-34% if I remember correctly. We checked some pecan he was splitting---38-39%. He was like OH!!! I told him it takes time to get that moisture out of that oak; oak doesn't like to let go of it...

Just the head???
No, the Yotee’s & other critters had been working the body over. He just took the saw over & took what he wanted, left the rest for nature & stuff.

I don’t know if a bow hunter put an arrow in it or if maybe someone hit it during first season & it died in the ditch.
