Hedge likes to exact its payment in blood usually.

Too bad Thomas wasn’t here to get his yearly bruising and blood letting..

I have done battle with hedge before, lol. Wish I was there. But I wouldn't have been much help, this crap in my chest has slowed me down, be glad when it is gone. And Sam was in a basketball tournament. He hit 5 threes last night. This was from Thursday night:

Pentacryl is supposed to help with that high moisture wood for stabilization, then seal it up after that treatment. I looked into for some center pieces a while back & forgot about it.

Looks good so far
I don’t even care what it ends up looking like really..

The idea was to take a fresh piece of wood and let the surface dry in the shop to the touch.. then sand it and dry another day.. I ran a fan on it and built a fire in the shop. Then stain the crap out of it with an oil based stain... every square inch of it. The amount of stain it soaked in the end was impressive..
Gonna let it set a bit and watch it.. I know exactly which way it will want to bow. If I ruin it, it’ll burn good... lol..

I know how much patience you are blessed with----none. I see a kiln in your future.

Morning everybody.
Spent Sunday testing the oven in the stove.
After a little "tapping" with a wrench the thermostat is now working 100%. I'd say letting these old things sit for 10-15 years isn't the best for them. They're meant to be used.
:)

We are fine over here.
We lost power for a couple hours, but that is all.

You guys were tagged in a classified ad. Not sure if you knew or not...or care for that matter.

So on this wood drying thing. I was thinking if one made a tent in the shop out of plastic and stuck a dehumidifier in there how effective who it be?
Not measureably different than starting a fire in the wood stove.
Now add some heat to the room with a de-humidifier, and you'll be speeding things up.
