This pine is some weird stuff.,

I milled about 20-2x8’s from an 8’ segment and stacked em on my rack in full sun.. thought surely they would be doing some weird *s-word by now, since it was a month ago..
nope... all of em still straight as a string... hell, I didn’t even cover them or put weight on them..

The stuff reminds me of basswood or balsa..
light and not a lot of sap.. ton of knots though.

HOLY COW!!! If it wasn’t dry enough around here tomorrow should suck the sap out of everything & probably relocate a lot of stuff. I hope no one flicks a cigarette out the window.

Evening everybody.
I have great news and I feel the need to brag.
Most everybody on here is familiar with me talking about my granddaughter Tyra. She's the one we drove 18 hours round trip to get her from her dad last memorial day. She stayed with us for the summer and she asked her mom if it was alright for her to come to Tennessee and visit for a week. My daughter said she could even stay 2 weeks, or longer, if she wanted to.
This was around labor day weekend and daughter bought the plane tickets for a 2 week stay. When she got back to us she said she wanted to stay in Tennessee. (That's good, that was my ultimate goal)
Anyway, she's been there sense about the end of september/early October.
She had dropped out of school at the end of her sophomore year at 16 years old.
She's 19 now.
This past Saturday she took her GED test that she's been working toward.
Got the test results today.
She passed. She not only passed, she slam dunked it. Minimum passing score was 45.
She did an 84. I'll tell you guys something, I'm so happy high right now I could go Duck hunting with a rake.

Well, the first round was uneventful here at the house, some 50mph winds, .08” of rain & power flickered once. 70* for a high today, currently 62*. The wind has switched to the west now & it’s starting to get after it. I can smell smoke so something is burning to the west. Our powah is out now.

The first round: North had confirmed twister, hail, heavy rains & wind gusts up to 70mph

South had heavy rains, hail & higher winds.

Our daughter up to Glenwood called & was without power, starting chirping about how she was going to feed her kids… I told her to pump the brakes on the b*tching, because I told them to get a gas stove. Then I proceeded to tell her they had a gas grill they could cook on also. :rolleyes:o_O Sometimes I wonder where I went wrong.
