The .308 Win begat a bunch of rounds.
.243 Win. 6mm
260 Rem. 6.5 mm
7mm-08 Rem. 7mm
.358 Win. 35 cal 9mm
What little I've read about it is there was an 8mm round and 7mm round variant. I think the 7mm was a Swedish made one. But the 7.62 or 7.62R were the Russian types. Further reading is that it's the Russian Mosin-Nagant rifle. My boss bought one. Said it's pretty decent. Apparently it's the longest produced rifle, too. From about 1891 to the mid 70's and apparently about 30 million made.Did they make a 7mm and 8mm version of that russian case also?
like a 7mm Negant or something like it? Always thought it was French.

Interestingly on the show "Life below zero" the Hailstones use a Mosin-Nagant to hunt with.
