I can't imagine one bar oil being better than the next, at least not enough to make me want to pay 2-4 times the price of the cheap stuff. I would buy the cheapest stuff I can find. I know thinner oil is better in the winter (especially up north), but if it is that cold (to make a difference in bar oil), you aren't going to find me cutting wood, unless it is a charity cut; and I usually get stuck behind a splitter at those.
I have noticed differences in oils as far as tackiness & definitely flow in both hot & cold conditions but nothing to justify the insane prices of some types of b/c oil. Itasca was the only kind I have had problem with being too thick in cold weather. I would rather cut in temps below 32 than any other temp range.

I'd rather cut in cold temperatures myself, too.
But I'll buy the cheapest on sale bar oil that's out there every time. Usually it's tractor supply.
But like I say, cheap (inexpensive) is where it's at.

I would rather cut in cold too. But cold enough that my cheap bar oil won't flow (or oil properly) is time to call it a day. Those days are few and far between here. In Iowa and Minnesota is a different story.

Not brand bashing but even Stihl oil is a lot thinner. I run mainly 24, 28 and 32 bars with it set wide open as much as I can on the saws!
Hate to say but the old ,Mac 81s and 850s had both manual and automation. Still think it's best.

I dozed out and dammed up a small pond upstream from the one I’m trying to pump out..
We have received 4” of rain in the last 2 days.
First 2” soaked all in, but last night it started to run a little. Pond filled completely.

Monsoon has resumed here.

No, not a good morning. [emoji90]

Mounted a 20” bar on the PM 700. Promptly tossed the chain on startup. [emoji2959] No damage except my pride.

Restarted and blowing out the bar oil accumulated in the engine before I overhauled the oil pump. Then the rain so no test cuts. [emoji90]

We went fishing at our neighbors pond last Saturday.
Makes me a REALLY want to have one built here, or buy a place that has one.
