I have crap I need to do today, but Lord I just feel like laying down and taking a nap... I might be channeling Carl, I don't know. Kids have B-Ball games in a hour though so it may be an early bed time instead and then actually get something done tomorrow. I am going to have to take the Hustler in though as I think it needs a new carb, but I don't want to dick with it ad Hustler sure didn't make it very easy to get to it... The next rider will either be a Grasshopper, Walker or a Deere as front deck cut far better in the conditions I'm in and having easier access to the engine for maintenance is always a plus...

The 5.9 and 6.7 are essentially the same engine aside from emission with the 6.7. With the 5.9 u get a 4spd auto trans and a 6spd auto with the 6.7. Plus the 6.7 has exhaust braking. Both can have head gasket problems head studs are the fix. Baby the have ball joint problems. If you go 6.7 definately delete the emissions. I'm gettn 17-22mpg in my 08. With a touch over 500hp. Both great trucks though.

Longer stroke Siamese bore on the 6.7. For a work truck pulling loads the 6.7 with the better torque and exhaust brake is the winner. I've had 12 5.9 and only 1 6.7. I have kept it 6 years so far.

We have an 02 5.9 with a 6spd manual 3.55 gears with about 8-900 hp and I believe my 08 6.7 auto with 3.73 gears will pull about the same amount just as easily. And my 6.7 runs way cooler egts than any 5.9 I've run.

I can see that. Torque curve is better on the 6.7. 02 still a VP?

Have you got a pop off put on it to stop the bark yet?

No we went with way heavier valve springs when we did the head studs and that seems to have fixed the problem. So much back pressure when you would lift under boost it would push the valves open. It does have a pacbrake on it now though! :)

They are 110# over stock, Hamilton springs with their titanium locks and retainers. Nice springs. Gonna try to put one of their cams n this 4BT I'm tinkering on.

The 07 I had those wouldn't hold. It helped but they still fluttered. Just a single 64/71

I haven't had to get that deep into my 6.7 yet. 190k hard miles b4 I finished off the trans going thru it now then to the head gasket. Might look into a cam and springs while I'm n there.
