if only a table top lathe would work. Still over $1000Well, I'll tell ya this, it ain't as easy as Scott makes it look. After you have to cut the plated band out of a jug by hand, you'll wish you had a lathe. I still do all of mine in a lathe, even the unplated bands.

aluminum seems to me the best option... Safer for the bore and cheaper and lighter. After all the cutter does the work. This is the bar stock I foundYes that's what I was insinuating Ethan, you need a lathe to make the mandrel and sanding mandrel too
