OK he just told me I have to make them in a lathe myself. *s-word. Lol. OK I guess the next question is what steel stock I need

Well, I'll tell ya this, it ain't as easy as Scott makes it look. After you have to cut the plated band out of a jug by hand, you'll wish you had a lathe. I still do all of mine in a lathe, even the unplated bands.
if only a table top lathe would work. Still over $1000

Well, I'll tell ya this, it ain't as easy as Scott makes it look. After you have to cut the plated band out of a jug by hand, you'll wish you had a lathe. I still do all of mine in a lathe, even the unplated bands.

That's for sure! I did a plated Hy-Way cylinder once, never again! That sucked royally! I cheated and just used a pop-up in the other one. Nothing's as easy as it looks either!

Yes that's what I was insinuating Ethan, you need a lathe to make the mandrel and sanding mandrel too

aluminum seems to me the best option... Safer for the bore and cheaper and lighter. After all the cutter does the work. This is the bar stock I found
