What's right.

Anybody know what brand of saw this is? Saw in a box it is. My next project to put together. Looks like a LOT of new parts in the box. Cylinder I've got looks brand new and 2 new pistons. Bearings, seals, gaskets. Two air covers in the box. One says Mcculloch the other doesn't say. But two different style covers. I need to get rings for it. Only thing I can't find in a box anywhere. Well, I did find a bag of 6 rings but they won't fit in the ring grooves and, when I put one in the cylinder, the ends overlap by about .005. They won't work. Bore measures 40mm. Ring grooves measure 1.2mm. I plugged those measurements into eBay and can get a pack of ten from hutzle for about $10. My question is since I have a 1.2mm groove don't the rings I need, need to be slightly thinner or are these machined already to fit the groove. They just call them 1.2mm.
One engine cover, that says Mcculloch, gives a model number of MS40A. Cylinder has MS40 cast into it. Closest I can find in IPL's is a 4018. Which gives a part number of 9189-310801-A. I plugged that into eBay and come up with a set of Mcculloch rings but with a different part number and they don't say what the dimensions are for the rings. Plus they're more expensive as compared to the others. $18 for two vs 10 for $10. I know, $18 is not bad but I don't know the dimensions.
I know, you all are thinking "Steve, why on earth are you screwing with this thing". It's fun. I just got done assembling a Husky 51 from its atoms. And had to use atoms from other boxes of atoms to make it a complete runner.
But I had a blast doing it.
Is that one of them ryobis

That's what I was originally thinking. I've got a couple of Ryobi's, just haven't thought to compare. But who makes them for ryobi? Redmax?

Found that Loftis small engine is supposed to be a Redmax dealer. Have to check that out Friday.

I'll grant you that is truly wonderful to put together a puzzle not having seen the 'before' pic.

But, you may be better off to 'mock it up' just to make sure nothing unobtanium is missing.

Check 'The Greek' eBay store for 40mm x 1.2mm rings.[emoji106]

Ordered a bunch of bits for porting just now lol and a set of ring clamps and piston stops. Guess I'm going to put a 1 inch pipe in the muffler I have and work on the other idea over time.

526 miles later (2 round trips east of Pawhuska) all of her crap is here... only burned 46.2 gallons of #2 in the process... Not bad for a 10K# truck pulling 3 of the 4 legs w/either 4:10 or 4:30 gears. We had the Sheriff's dept out both days as we didn't ANY chance of B.S. Luckily the dumb chicken ___t elected to skip work and spend two days in the bar, so now he's not only homeless, but broke. That's class. Why smart, nice, goodly (or better) looking girls waste time with d-bags like this, I'll never understand. I spent the afternoon explaining the situation to my daughter and pointing out why an individual might pull crap like this on a woman. I don't think she'll be falling for crap like that (or at least hope not). If she does, I will most definitely "fix" the problem.

Okla. used to have a law....automatic 48-72 hours in jail for domestic abuse; a cooling off period. I think it would make me mad instead of cooling off. My buddy got tossed just because girlfriend called the police and said he abused her. My buddy says he never laid a hand on her, says she lied but the police didn't care.
I don't like blanket laws like that were there's no real burden of proof on the complainant, BUT, in situations where it's legit, I could see the value of it. He was going to try to drain the bank account and/or run up a bill on the phone, but both were fixed before he could. He did siphon all of the fuel out of her Pacifica and riding mower (both full tanks) so I got to load them on the trailer via come-a-long power... BUT, we got her property out w/o incident or confrontation and I may have talked a Sheriff's deputy into joining the Masonic lodge so I'll count that as a triple win (while doing my Boy Scout good deed for the day). All in all, not how I planned on starting my post-Christmas vacation, but I figure that the good deeds ought to offset some of my vagaries and imperfections.

You know the Lord loves you even
With your imperfections :)
It's good that you were able to help :)
Sometimes it just takes a little help
To keep someone going :)

the benders they use are for copper and aluminum pipe usually but maybe. I'll have to ask my girlfriend's step dad he owns a local HVAC company
I got this year's ago to bend steel fuel lines between the fuel pump and carb. Only goes to 3/8" though. It will make a bend so tight on 3/8" line that you can't turn the flare nut.
