Now that I have the carb off the choke doesn't get stuck anymore... Still don't know about the chain brake
It's talking to you right now, Grasshopper. It's telling you what's wrong. Now is the time for patience. Study it very carefully. Get close because it may be whispering to you. Just be careful, it might piss in your face again.

Just having fun, Ethan.
I prefer having a chain brake too. Keep looking, you'll find it and fix it.

Fixed it for you Doug!!!

@Locust Cutter
What part of Kansas are you in? I have dry hedge and a splitter to make it small enough for your friend to handle. I'm in Wichita KS.
I'm in Udall about 25 miles south of Wichita and He's off of 31st South and Meridian. I have plenty to give Him outright, but, a neighbor has a large pile of dead hedge about 3 miles North of me that's free for the taking and a good reason to go out and cut... They've not been burning a lot though as He's on oxygen and essentially can't load by Himself anymore, His wife works during the day and the home "health care" individuals could largely care less... I used to get Him 1-2 cords/yr but he hadn't burned much in the last two and when he was, he was burning Cottonwood from a tree he had removed in his backyard. The supply is a bit low and what's left I haven't had time to get over and work up for Him. It's been hell on chains and generally a PITA to cut.[/QUOTE]

I can get over there. I'm only 2 miles from him. PM or just give me a ring or email

this hole where the linkage goes in and the pin goes through it and the handle determines when the brake is engaged. It is much to large by like .150

I agree with those who have already said a missing bushing. Whether you can find definitive proof of this or not, try it anyway. You may have to think outside the box. Ace Hardware has always been a great resource when I've been improvising.
