I would have to sell two of my cars to afford that lol. good luck.
he wants $750... I'm not sure I'm gonna get it because I want it to carry in the woods all day.... It would be badass but it's 27 pounds without bar, chain, or any fuel or oil. It's either than or get a new 390xp and send it to Gary Hunt.

Get a 390XP From Awol. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Seriously, you'll really like it.

The 372 that he designed was one of the baddest saws Husqvarna has ever made. He's not well known because he's retired. But him and his brother went by the Hunt Brothers and built racing saws on the west coast. Several loggers send theirs to Gary still. He's one of the best.

Not trying to insult Awol I just know and trust Gary's work
Not trying to insult you, your father, or Gary, either. It's up to you, buddy. Your money. That you work hard for.
But I know Allen and his work. Before you make any decision, talk to him first.

6.7 iveco swap anyone?
5d76c7f4e453c2034d2a26702c5f10fe.jpg
I'd swap that in place of my 7.3 with blow-by in a heart beat!!! I still might drop a 6.7 Cummins in it...

The problem is getting a fire lit in the first place.
When I say it'll snuff out a piece of lit newspaper, I'm not exagerating.

By my estimation, this damn thing would need to have the equivalent of a 5 gallon shop vac sucking the exhaust out..
In their search for a fine tuned burning machine at operating temps, they have sacrificed the whole point of what we use a wood stove for in the first place. Quick, convenient, cheap, heat.
My PE is a bee-atch to light w/the door closed... But, once going it does VERY well. and is fairly miserly on the output. My next one will be either a Jotul Big Bear, or a Woodstock Soapstone Hybrid. A neighbor actually has two Woodstocks (still on the pallets) for sale for about $400-500 off retail... One may find it's way to my place.

They will do both. When home to tend, heat with.
They both work, but thanks to dad, have 5 cord of dry hedge waiting for free combustion.
Propane is cheap now, but we all know how quickly that can change.
That's an awesome Dad right there... Then again, I know that I'd do just about anything for my Daughter so...

Put a stack on it and see.

The EPA sucks, but these new stoves put out more heat, burn longer & do it with less wood.. So don't go porting that thing just yet! :)

Matt, I will have to agree with Don 100 % on that statement. I thought that I had made a big mistake for a few weeks/months
after coming from an old style fire breathing dragon of a wood stove to an EPA wimp of a stove. It took a good while before I realized
how to run it properly and make the stove produce lots of heat. In the meantime, the dealer kept telling me that to get "seasoned" wood.
That is actually what began the journey into the darkness of chainsaws. As seasoned wood was researched on the net, reading of the forums
began. Then AS ..........
Wood that has been in the stack for over a year in the dry will be your best friend with that stove.
IDK..
Just not feeling good about this one..
I think it might be an XT.

The first time you ran a sure nuff ported saw, you did not know how to get "all of it" into the wood.
If one works with these stoves and learns how to hot rod the h... out of them, they do a good job!

I put in my stove last year. Got a year ago black Friday and installed it about mid December. Stove was on clearance. U.S Stove Company brand rated for 1200 sq. ft. Perfect size for my house. The longest it will take is 16 inch and that's tight. I cut mine 12-14 inches and split it about the size of my forearm. 4 pieces fill the stove tight. Tonight I started a fire about 6pm with 3 sticks, just now put in 2 more with a good bed of coals going. On weekends, if I keep it going 24/7, I'll go through about a dozen to 18 sticks. Basically from Friday evening through Sunday bedtime. 38 years ago, when I first burned wood, it went from standing green to the old stove I had then. Seasoned wood for me was a month old. This new stove won't hardly burn green stuff but seasoned goes real good. Had to throttle him down and open some doors it's so hot. But it took a while to figure it out, it runs that much different than my old one.
